I’m Iain – a filmmaker, hiker and storyteller based in Dublin. I make quiet, cinematic hiking films from the trails of Ireland: slow, reflective pieces that feel more like being walked through a place than being “sold” a destination.

What I make

My main home is YouTube, where I publish long-form hiking films that blend trail guidance, Irish landscape, and reflective narration. Each video is crafted as a short story: strong visual composition, careful pacing, and sound design that lets the viewer breathe.

Around that, I share shorter vertical films and still photography on Instagram, TikTok and YouTube Shorts – quick, atmospheric glimpses of the same trails, designed to stop the scroll without shouting.

The common thread in everything I make is simple: slow, honest, human. No fake hype. No “buy this to be happy.” Just someone out on the trail, bringing viewers with them.

Brand partnerships and sponsorships

I like to work with outdoor, travel and creative brands whose products genuinely belong on the trail. That usually looks like integrating your gear or service into a real hike: planning the route, filming it cinematically, and naturally weaving your brand into the story where it actually helps.

This can live as a featured long-form film on YouTube, supported by a set of short vertical videos and stills for social. I’m not interested in forcing logos into every frame; I am interested in showing how your product fits into a real day in the hills, in a way viewers trust.

Destinations and trails

If you’re promoting a region, trail, or specific route, I can create a film that feels like walking it with a thoughtful local: clear trail guidance, honest effort, and space for the beauty and history of the place to come through.

I focus on Ireland and the UK, but I’m open to travel where the story makes sense. The tone is always the same: respectful to the landscape, helpful to the viewer, and grounded in the reality of what it’s like to be there on your own two feet.

Licensing and commissioned films

If you need cinematic hiking footage for your own channels, campaign, or event, I can plan and shoot a custom piece for you. That might be a short brand film for your website, a background film for an installation, or clean, graded footage cut to your brief.

All filming is done solo on lightweight cinema gear, so I can move fast on narrow trails and in changeable weather while still keeping the quality high.

Talks, workshops and consulting

Away from the hills, I work in AI and software engineering leadership. A lot of my work now sits at the intersection of technology, creativity, and burnout – how we stay human in a world that keeps speeding up.

If you’re organising an event or team session, I can speak or run a workshop on topics like: finding balance between online and offline life, building sustainable creative habits, or using technology without letting it use you. These talks often draw on my hiking films as a visual thread.

I protect the audience’s trust. My viewers are there for calm, thoughtful, well-made films. I’m careful about how sponsorships show up so that people keep watching and don’t feel like they’ve wandered into an advert. That’s better for them and better for you.
